June 29, 2009

I love all things – especially food- that are dressed up, but still downhome….just wait to you see my wedding reception! That is why this recipe in the July issue of Southern Living really caught my eye….Baked Bean Crostinis.

I’m pretty sure they’d be a hit back home in Tennessee, but I don’t know if these country crusts could compete against crab dip here in Maryland…Here is the recipe if you’d like to try, where ever you are!

Theme for Thursday – Eggcellence.
April 9, 2009

Not everyone has friends as sassy as mine who challenge them to find a perfecly pink dress to wear to a Steel Magnolias themed brunch. So, if you aren’t planning to set up a Shelby,  Drink Your Juice! mimosa bar at your Easter dinner, perhaps you should consider a more traditional theme like The Egg.  If you look beyond a dye box, there are many exciting  (I resisted…) ways to have an eggceptional (I coulnd’t help myself…)  Easter table!

I’m Really Into Skinny Dipping
April 1, 2009

During my first big diet week, I was pretty dedicated. I didn’t have any drinks at my birthday lunch, no weeknight alcohol.  My only indulgences, save the birthday cake that Anne made me and some birthday wine, were nightly treats of Skinny Cow Skinny Dippers.   These yummies come in vanilla and caramel, both dipped in choclate.  One could never tell it was low-fat and just one Weight Watchers Point!  If you’ve never been Skinny Dipping, you should try it….!
