Kenny Chesney
June 24, 2009

bonapp

It is no secret that I am a shameless Kenny Chesney fan. So, when he played just miles from my house  over Memorial Day weekend there was no doubt that a Kenny-inspired Country Meets Carribean party had to happen. Inspired by song lyrics, the back patio became pre-concert headquarters and loyal fans  joined us for food and drinks that only true followers would appreciate.

The menu inlcuded, among other things:  A Basket Full of Chicken, Greasy Cheeseburgers , Tennessee Big Star Caviar, Mac Macanally and Cheese,   My Key Lime Pie Cupcakes and Cookies.

The Good Stuff  Bar offered Beers In Mexcio, Tequila Loves Me Margaritas, Too Much Malibu and Diet,  and I Know Who Made the Moonshine Cherries, too.

What a fun time, and the show was one of the best I’ve seen….and I’ve seen a lot!

One SWEET Baby Shower
June 22, 2009

SHOWERS 016

Before Carrie showered me with bridal gifts I got the honor of showering her as she counts down the days ’til mommyhood!!! I co-hosted a  SWEET themed baby shower for my super cute prego friend, who has had quite the sugar craving as she awaits  the arrival of Miss Carragan.  It won’t be long, and this Baby Joy will arrive well equipt to stroll, sleep, eat, bathe and, of course, dress in the same sassy fashion as her mama!

Carragan's favorite colors are pink and green - like her mom and Aunt Mary!

Theme for Thursday – Sleepover
April 23, 2009

I don’t think I’ve ever, ever seen a cuter table!!! Honeslty, I thought about NOT posting this so I could create this table and my friends would think it was my own idea.

How perfect for a  kids’ slumber party…or a grown-up girly night for that matter (EstroFests as they are known in my world) especially if you plan to watch Sleepless in Seattle! Or….with some more adult linens it’d make a great table for a bachelorrette dinner or a lingerie party, as well!

Theme for Thursday – Eggcellence.
April 9, 2009

Not everyone has friends as sassy as mine who challenge them to find a perfecly pink dress to wear to a Steel Magnolias themed brunch. So, if you aren’t planning to set up a Shelby,  Drink Your Juice! mimosa bar at your Easter dinner, perhaps you should consider a more traditional theme like The Egg.  If you look beyond a dye box, there are many exciting  (I resisted…) ways to have an eggceptional (I coulnd’t help myself…)  Easter table!

Theme for Thursday – MyBirthday

Theme: Make-Over/ Mall Party            Event:  Birthday

Gift bags filled with pink candies and champagne!

Gift bags filled with pink candies and champagne!

Maybe it was last week’s 80’s theme that sent me back into the parties of my youth, but when it came time to celebrate my 32nd year, a few key elements played into the tone that was set for celebrating:

1/I wanted the day to be relaxing and girly!

2/ I had not purchased make-up that didn’t come from Target since 2008, aka The Lay Off, and if you’ve seen photos of me lately, you can tell…

3/Because of #2, (and 32!) I’m noticing bags under my eyes that are so deep and blue I almost went with a outerspace theme in honor of my face craters.  To make this party purposeful, I set out with finding the duck tape version of concealer!

4/ Knowing of my budget restraints when it comes to cosmetics, my loving, giving fabulous BFF Cassie gifted me with a very generous gift card …so inspite of joblessness, I had some operating capital!

I sent a iomoi invite to my sassiest girls and scheuled make-overs for each of us at various Macy’s counters. I thanked my friends for sacrificing a Saturday in honor of my vanity and birth by creating swag bags. Afterall, every shopper needs sugar!! Once we were all dressed up, we needed a place to go…so off we went to toast our new looks and our fun, girly day over lunch!

My only regret from this fun party? We didn’t take a group picture!!!!!

Thank you Anne, Jocelyn, Mary, Carrie, Tiffany (and Cassie, too!)  for making my 32nd birthday feel like my 13th  – I heart you all!
